Lake Keowee is a large, beautiful lake located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Clemson, South Carolina. It was formed by Duke Energy to produce hydroelectric power and has been used for recreation purposes since 1964. The lake spans 18 miles long with 300 miles of shoreline and covers approximately 18,372 acres with depths ranging from 10 to 130 feet.

As one of the largest man-made lakes in South Carolina, Lake Keowee offers ample opportunities for outdoor recreation, such as fishing, boating, swimming and camping. Fishing is popular here with a variety of species inhabiting the lake including bass, walleye, catfish and crappie. Boaters can enjoy a variety of water activities such as skiing, wakeboarding and tubing.

The lake also offers stunning views, with its crystal clear waters surrounded by hills and mountains. It's no wonder why the beauty of Lake Keowee has attracted many to purchase second homes or retirement properties on or near the shoreline.
